How to get to the Isle Of Wight

There are numerous ways to get to the Island from the Mainland, and it does depend on how you are planning on coming down as a unit and whereabouts you are located in the Country.

There are two ferry companies that run to the Island these are 'Red Funnel' and 'Wight Link'.

The ferry to the Island is quite expensive, make sure that you allow for this when calculating your budget, also as it is a Double Bank Holiday weekend make sure that you book well in advance, or else you might have problems getting to the Island.

The Island has two types of trains, it has Steam Trains and the Old London Underground Trains that run above ground.  If you make it to Ryde then you can catch the train from Ryde to Lake Train Station which is a 5-10 minute walk from the camp site.  If you let us know in advance we will try and arrange for someone to pick you up, depending on availability.

So Where is the Camp Site ?
The campsite is located at Lake Middle School, which is in a small town called Lake.  Lake is situated on the South East coast of the Island between Sandown and Shanklin.
If you are coming from Cowes then head towards Newport getting yourself on the A&*^£$&*^£$???? And following that to Arreton which is on Newport Road.  Follow Newport Road all the way into Lake and you will see the School on your Left hand side.
If you are coming from Fishbourne then head towards Ryde, follow the 289732980742 ???? To Sandown, go through Sandown until you reach Lake, turn right onto Newport Road and the school is at the top of the hill.
